39 Weeks

I'm 39 weeks today!  Eye took this picture while I was doing Pilates on my new equipment.   I always feel really strong after I exercise.  I haven't been walking as much because it is just to0 hot now and I have to pee every 5 feet so I can't walk my mile anymore.  But we have been swimming everyday which I LOOOVE.   I feel so weightless.  I hate getting out of the pool because I feel soooo heavy.    I've been trying not to obsess about my due date next Monday. He'll come when he is ready.   I'm keeping busy teaching, reading, napping and spending time with my husband.   Being patient is hard for me but I have learned through out this whole process that there are things I cannot control.  So with that being said time to go swimming!!!

Pregnant Photo Shoot at 35 Weeks

Yesterday our dear friend Mike Quain gave us a wonderful gift by giving us a preggers photo shoot.  He has an amazing loft in downtown L.A.  He also shot our wedding in 2006.
My other talented friend Kelly Shew who is an amazing make-up artist put these awesome crystals on my belly.  We had so much fun shooting!  I had a fun playing dress up!   We ended the day by seeing the Lakers beat Utah Jazz at the Staple Center.  We've had a great couple of days in L.A!

8 months!

Today I'm 8 months.   Getting closer!!!!   I met with my midwife April last week  and I must say I really like her.  She was really personable.  I actually felt the baby's head when she examined me!  She explained so much to me.  She gave me homework too which I love.  I have to write down everything I eat for a week.   I brought home an excel sheet and a list of foods which I should be eating. I love it!   I'm reading a lot of books.   Right now I'm reading Gentle Birth Choices, by Barbara Harper.  I just came back from a vaccination class.   I've been to 2 different vaccine classes.  One class suggests vaccination and the other one doesn't advise vaccination.  Totally polar opposites.  I need to do my own research.   The speaker tonight said something very interesting to me.  He said,  "People do more research on what car to buy than what they put into their newborns."   That totally struck a chord with me.   He gave me some websites to check out and some books to read.   More reading for me!   My husband gets home next Monday.  I can't wait.  I'm over being alone, I'm ready for someone to take care of me.  There is still so much to do.  We have to start taking our Lamaze classes,   find a pediatrician,  start fixing the baby room.   I finally put away all the gifts I got from the shower.  My BFF gave me 3 huuuuge bags of clothes.  So grateful for that.   As I was folding all the little clothes I couldn't believe that there was going to be a little baby inside of it!  WIERD!!!

30 Weeks

I am 30 weeks already!  I can't believe it.  I'm reading a lot.  Just read Happiest Baby on the Block by Dr. Karp,  The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth by Henci Goer and now I'm reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth.  I really like Ina May's book.  There are so many stories  of home births.  It's very inspiring.  It makes me feel like I can do it too.   Today is St. Patty's Day and I'm going to spend a nice relaxing day by the pool then shop with Birdie.  I started to warm up the pool yesterday.   Water!!!!  Yea, it's been so long.  I wanted to go swimming on my birthday tomorrow since it's going to be 83 degrees!  I'm going to see my huzzzband on Sunday in L.A.   I am soooooo excited.   My sister is throwing me a baby shower in L.A. and Ivan is flying in for just the day.  I miss him a lot.  It's getting harder now.  I'm done being alone.  I can't wait for this weekend!  Friends, family and my honey!!!

7 Months!!!

I'm 7 months and 1 day today!  Where did the time fly?  I just finished a industrial gig for Remax at the MGM Grand Garden.  I was in charge of rounding up percussionist and I played a little tamborine also.  It felt great working and actually making a paycheck.  (I could have done without the 6AM call time though)  My honey has been gone a week and a day and I have to say that I'm doing pretty good.  I miss him a lot.  Thank goodness I have my two chihuahuas to keep me warm at night.   Can I just tell you that video chat is a life saver!!!  I love just having it on for hours and watching TV or eating together.  It sounds silly but it really helps the loneliness.  I'm taking a road trip to Bakersfield to help my parents pack.  It will be nice to spend sometime with them.  I have another OB appointment this Thursday.  I'm a little nervous because I am going to tell him that we have been thinking a lot about having a home birth.  Sigh.  I'm not looking forward to hearing what he has to say.  Hey, maybe he'll be like, "You know, go for it.  Your healthy and in shape, I give you my full support!"   Yea right.   Well...we'll see.   Tonight I'm taking a vaccine class at my new favorite place called Well Rounded Momma with my friend Lisa who is 5 months preggers.   More updates to come!  :)

6 months!!!

I'm 6 months and 2 days today.  I had a full weekend in L.A.  and now I am heading back to Vegas.  We haven't been home for over a month now.  I had two full days of pilates on Saturday and Sunday.  It was a little frustrating because I couldn't really do much.  THEN,  I actually went an audition and got a call back while I was in L.A!  It's pretty ironic that  for the last 6 months I've been dying for a beautiful belly and for the first time I was trying to hide my belly for the a audition.   Of course... just my luck.

I'm ready to get back to my life in Vegas.  Although I loved being on vacation for a month, I feel like I need to start getting the baby stuff started.  Yesterday Ivan and I went to Ikea and Baby's R Us.  Ikea was great. I found a dresser I liked for the baby.  When we got to Baby's R Us I kinda had a melt down.  I was sooooo overwhelmed.  I didn't know where to start.  There wasn't anyone around to help us.  There was another couple there who looked like an slightly older version of us.  Older asian women holding a scanner looking completely confused as to what stroller/car seat to buy and older bald man saying, "maybe today is just the look day and not the register day....I didn't think this was going to take 3 hours."  EXACTLY!   I was thankful bald man brought a manager over to help us all out.  The one good thing about Baby's R Us is that they have expecting mothers parking even closer than handicap parking!

Ivan is going on tour for 2 months next week.  I'm a little anxious.  I know I'll be fine because I have so much of my Stomp family in Vegas.  I just really wanted to get to the nesting!  I guess we'll have to wait until Ivan gets back in April.  I'd rather have Ivan gone now then when baby is born.  I am really thankful that he got work for the next 2 months, especially in this economy and me not working and all.  Sigh...I'm going to miss him so much.  Thank God for video iChat!

Babymoon Flutters

Ivan and I are on our much deserved babymoon.  It's been so great relaxing here on Oahu.  Before our trip I was a little worried that I wasn't feeling him at all.  "Flutters" or "butterflies" is what everyone would told me it would feel like.  As you know I am very impatient (working on that).  The last couple of days I have been feeling the actual flutters!   I have been feeling him more at night when I'm winding down.  Last night when we were lying down I put Eye's hand on my belly.  I took several deep breaths saying in my head, "Okay baby, move for Daddy,"  and HE DID!!!  The look on Ivan's face was priceless.  It was a look of "Wow!!!" and "Oh sh*t this is real!"  Then he went to my belly and started talking to the baby.  He loved the sound of Daddy' s voice!  He actually kicked harder.  It was such an amazing moment to have with Eye.  I actually felt like it was the first time the  3 of us connected, it was amazing.

5 Months!

Okay NOW you have to see the bump.  We went to Brian Head, Utah for New Years and when I came back I head a belly!   It happened over just 3 days.  Today I am 20 weeks and 1 day.  I went for my check up and heard the baby's heart beat.  The doctor said the heart is strong and that I am at the perfect weight for where I am in my pregnancy.   I have gained 10 pounds.  I can definitely feel the weight on me but I really don't mind it.  It feels good.   I feel pregnant now and  I absolutely love it.   Now that the show is done I have been doing more pilates, but I am modifying everything that I do. The only thing that is annoying is that I think I am beginning to have allergies!  Ugh!  I have a runny nose and I'm sneezing all the time.  Not sure if it's the wind, the weather or just dusty Vegas.  They say your more prone to runny noses when your preggers since there is a lot more blood and hormones in your body. This Friday I have another big ultrasound.  Not sure if I want to do the 3-D or 4-D.  I kinda want to be surprised when I see him for the first time since we already know that he's a boy.  Next week Ivan and I go to Hawaii for 3 weeks.  I can't wait!  Hmmmm maybe I need to buy a new bathing suit for my new body.

4 Months!

Can you see it?   Can you see my bump?    Okay if you need a magnifying glass to see my bump then look at the size of my rack!!   Well I can see a little bump....and so can Eye and my close friends at work who've seen me naked in the dressing room for the past 2 years.  I look at it about 100 times a day to see if it's getting bigger.  I WANT it to get bigger.   Come on you can see it right?????

Yesterday I went to the OB and he said that the reason I'm not showing yet is because my abs are strong.  (go pilates!)  I guess that's a good thing.  I've gained 2 pounds since my last visit so I now weigh 130 pounds.  Next week Wednesday I go for the big ultrasound where they take measurements of the fetus.   I have to drink 32 oz. of water an hour before and I can't pee!  That sounds like an eternity to me since I seem to pee every 5 minutes.  Hopefully if fetus is in a good position we can see the sex.   Wahine or Kane?  I really don't care.  I just want a healthy baby.

Speaking of healthy babies, my good friend just gave birth to a beautiful boy.  His name is Makai.  I loove that name and he is sooo precious.  I saw him for the first time yesterday and I kept saying, " I can't believe your in this world already!"   For me it seemed like just yesterday Birdie told me she was pregnant.   It seems so surreal that what's growing inside me is actually going to come out and be in this world!

2006

I was looking at my screen saver photos and this one popped it.  It was taken March 2006 at Eye and I's bowling birthday party.   My friend in this photo is also 7 months pregnant.  I was a little intoxicated and I remember my then fiance's face when he saw us taking that photo.  You can actually see him in the background looking away!!!  HAHA!    So funny how things change in 4 years.  Now we are married and are really expecting!    Today I can finally see a little tiny bump and it makes me giggle.  I look at this picture trip out that that is what I'll look like next year!

15 Weeks!

Tomorrow I will be 15 weeks.   As you can still I'm not showing just yet.  I can tell that I have a small pouch, but most people can't see it.  My mom said she didn't start showing until 5 months with her first child.  My other girlfriend also didn't start showing until 5 months either.  As most of you know I am the most impatient person in the world so waiting another month to show seems so far.  I have spent all of my professional life trying not to have a belly and now that I can have one I don't just yet.   Having a belly is the most beautiful part of pregnancy to me.  To watch a woman's body expand, knowing the is a life force inside her body is so amazing to me.  My mommy/pregnant friends all have said..."Oh just you wait,"  or "Enjoy sleeping on your back while you can," or "You have plenty of time."  Waiting is not my specialty, but I'm learning that patience goes hand and hand in motherhood.   So I embrace it with open arms.
