10 Months!

I'm not going to start this post with, "I can't believe it's been blah blah blah." (I guess I just did) This month has been a huge milestone for him. He crawled on all fours, stood up by himself without any help, and took 4 little steps on my birthday! Lolo predicted that he would be walking by 10 months and he might be right. Nainoa likes to
  • Stand and flap his arms up and down.
  • Bang two objects together in his hands.
  • Make the sign for light.
  • Eat his toes.
He also love the book, "Buenas noches, Gorila." There are many things Nainoa dislikes too. As you can see in my previous post he will definitely tell you if he is unhappy. Nainoa does not like activities such as changing his diapers or being in his play pen. He also has a bit more stranger anxiety too.

Today we celebrated his 10 month by going to the park with his girlfriend Pema. She is sooooooo smart! I was so impressed by her Chinese language and signing skills. I realized today how much of a boy Nainoa is. He was all over the place, getting into everything, eating leaves, crawling everywhere, getting dirty. I can't wait to post the pictures from today. Nainoa and Pema look so cute playing together!

Perfect birthday

On my birthday I woke up to this morning smile.

Then my sis and I headed Griffith Park for a picnic.

She brought me my favorite food from Portos.

Nainoa had his first swing experience with Marls.

It was a perfect California day with my son, my sis and my friends.

Amy's Playground

Today I took Naiona to Amy's Indoor Playground. It was very clean and they had lots of toys, books, bouncies and even an infant area. He had a blast crawling around touching everything. He is so into textures. I love watching him feel his way through the world first by touch and then by mouth. Nainoa loves to practice standing and he's even trying to walk. (He took 2 tiny steps at Auntie Rocky's today) He really liked playing with these trucks while standing. Naiona is so much fun to watch. I love when he's so happy playing and exploring. Hopefully we'll make it back here again with Marls & Pema before we go home.

Boys & Bongos

After Amy's Playground we stopped at Marl's house to play some more. Marls is SO good with Nainoa. At one point Nainoa yanked Marls hair. When I pried Marl's hair from Nainoa's death grip Marls didn't even flinch. He just looked at Nainoa, like, "Dude, what's up with that?" Thanks for sharing your toys and being such a good friend Marls. We LOVE you and we are so proud that you are walking! YAY (while clapping hands)!!!

Spring Break!

Nainoa likes to point

I am officially on Spring Break! WOHOOO PARTAAYYY!! I am going to spend a week at my brothers in L.A. I am looking forward to spending quality time with my bro and my sis, see my mommy friends and eat at my favorite restaurants! I hope I can do everything and see everyone. Unfortunately Eye will be on tour with Dan and will be missing our birthday's once again. The Lolos will be in Vegas so it will just be me and Nainoa tackling L.A. I'm looking forward to my adventure!

Sniff, Sniff, Sniff

They other day I noticed Kiko all up in Nainoa's diaper. I kept shooing him away saying, "Kiko get out of there!" I did a peek into the diaper. Saw nothing and smelled nothing. Later on when I went to change Nainoa's diaper there was a small little nugget! HA! Never discount your dog's nose. Every time Kiko takes a sniff sniff sniff, I know it's time for a change even if my nose can't detect what's waiting for me in Nainoa's diaper.

Yo Gabba Gabba & Klymaxx

Even though Nainoa hasn't watched Yo Gabba Gabba yet we listen to the sound track all the time. I often listen to it by myself in the car. Last night Ivan and I were on our way to meet some friends for dinner and we kept rewinding the "Nice & Clean" song. I am so into this song! It reminds me of one of my favorite songs from the 80's, "Meeting in the Ladies Room" by Klymaxx. I realized why I loved Yo Gabba Gabba's music so much. It reminds me of the music I grew up with!

Within this last year so many of my high school friends have had children. Last weekend I actually had the opportunity to meet most of them. Dana Sustin and I have known each other from the first grade. (He use to chase me into the girls bathroom) We also went to junior high and high school together. We were all very close in high school. We had the best drama department in the San Fernando Valley. Last Sunday it was his son's 1st birthday party and most of my high school friends came. It was so great to re-connect with all them and meet their children! I loved watching all or our little one's play together. Reason number 1,110 why I will eventually make it back to L.A.

Playing with Uncle

We spent a very short 2 days in L.A. last weekend. Saturday we drove up and spent the night at my brother's house. Mel can walk with out any assistance! I held back my tears watching him walk up the stairs with out his walker. I watched him go from the floor to his chair all by himself. Then he dragged his chair all the way from the kitchen to his bedroom. AMAZING! He is really independent and is a total fighter. (Runs in the family.) I am hoping and praying that he can gain all of his mobility back. I loved watching Nainoa play ball with Mel. It was so cute to watch them roll around the floor and toss the ball back and forth. I can't wait to get back to L.A in a couple of weeks to see how much more my brother has improved!
