Nainoa's Baby Luau

Song by Amy Hanaial'i Gillon

Love surrounds my body

Your smile comes with the tears

Proud in the sky blown mist

Dampening your cheeks

The fitful movement of the light

Near the three hau trees

Royal child, great child, small child

The home of the sea faring chiefs

Answer my royal one, rose of Maui

Strung with love

Bound in memory

For us to fulfill

Mahalo to all of you near and far for supporting us through this year

The Chair

Auntie gLo gave Nainoa this cute chair with his name on it. Once he learned how to get off of it safely he did this all day.

I love L.A.

I love being back home. Especially when my whole entire family is here for the weekend as well as my BFF.

Today we started out having breakfast at my favorite place Le Pain Quotidien with my BFF and Kaiyayai.

Auntie Michele gave us two really great books Tails and Gallop!

After our nice visit with Mish we had lunch with my brother at Mr. Baguette where Nainoa decided to drink my watered down fresh squeezed orange juice straight from the straw. It was fun watching him figure out how to drink from the straw. I think he got inspired by watching Kaiyayai drink from his straw earlier.

After everyone napped, Nainoa's Reshumasi came over. It was her first time meeting Nainoa. He loved all the the pretty necklaces she had on. It was so great to catch up with her and hear all her stories from India and London. Aaahhh what a great day. I love L.A.

Hau'oli La Hanau!

Nainoa is one year old today! I can't believe it. One year ago I had my almost home-birth turned C-section. My NICU baby who was 7 pounds 13 ounces, 21 inches long is now 25 pounds 30 1/4 inches long. Sigh...I swear it seems as if I blinked and woke up one year later.

We are off to L.A. today with Tutu in tow to celebrate Nainoa's birthday this Saturday. It is going to be a huge reunion for family and friends. I am so excited and overwhelmed to see everyone.

Happy Birthday Nainoa. You are the best thing that ever has happened to me. I cannot imagine life with you. You have my heart and you fill me with aloha every single day.

Lakers vs. Suns

Eye likes Nash. I like Kobe. Nainoa....well since he doesn't have a preference we decided we was going to be the ref. Lola bought Eye his Suns jersey for Christmas one year and because she felt bad for me she bought me a Lakers Kobe Bryant jersey. Lakers one the first out of seven tonight. (Eye is not happy) Our household is going to be crazy these next couple of weeks! GO LAKERS!!!

Eye made Nainoa's shirt with gaff tape.

He was really into his whistle.

No matter our differences we are still a happy family.

Oh no he didn't put a Pheonix hat on Nainoa!

Two teeth on the bottom, 2 on top and one more cutting.

Reflecting on Haukea

Today is Haukea's 4th birthday and it's the first birthday I didn't throw her a party. My friend Jen said last year, "Once the baby comes no more doggie parties." She was so right! We did take her to the park today and she also got a special chicken and rice birthday dinner from Lola. I keep trying to remember what I was doing days before Nainoa was born. One year ago today I had a pool party for Haukea. I invited all her doggy friends and had a doggy birthday cake. Loooook at my huuuuuge belly!!

Wheat free doggy cake with cream cheese icing from Snooty Pets

Samia

Can you believe how talented Dan's daughter is? I can' believe how talented she is. I remember when she was born. Wasn't it yesterday? I wonder if Nainoa will take a liking to the arts. Wow time flies. I'm so proud of Sam. Enjoy!
