Miracles & Inspirations

The day after we got back from Hawaii we drove down to L.A. to see my brother. The progress that he has made is truly amazing. He can walk with a walker and his speech is totally clear. His determination and strength is totally inspirational to me. One the best parts of our weekend besides helping him do his physical therapy was watching him interact with Nainoa.

On Sunday Eye watched the baby while my whole family went to the park.

I am so lucky to have my family.

Daddy's Ohana

It was so great for Nainoa to meet Daddy's ohana on this trip. I realized that we need to be here more. I want Nainoa to know where Daddy came from, what island life is like, how much he is loved by his ohana here. Tonight we are leaving and I am sad. I wish we lived closer. It was so nice to see the baby play with his Tutu, Grandpas, cousins, Aunties, and everyone here. Sigh...maybe we just live here part of the year...one day...one day.

Cruising Waikiki

When Eye was doing shows at night, Nainoa and I would cruise Waikiki. It was nice to watch the sunset, listen to live music by the beach or watch a free hula show. For really long walks I would use my both City Mini (thanks Pema for the suggestion) and P-sling. If Nainoa fell asleep in the sling I would transfer him to the stroller because it has a great lay down feature. For shorter walks I would just use my trusty sling. I must say I prefer wearing Nainoa but the 23 pounds can take a tole on your back! Here are a few shots from us hanging out in Waiks.

The D

This has been happening the past few days. First it was just the jaw moving up and down. Then a day later the sound came out!
