Back to School

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. As some of you know I am back to school full time and it's NO JOKE. Every minute of the day is accounted for. I barely have time to shower, I know you mommy's out there feel me! I am LOVING school. It's hard and challenging but I feel like I am doing something for me and Nainoa. My day usually consists of waking up at 6, pilates clients starting at 7am, then put Nainoa down for a nap, study for an hour, play with the baby, try and put him down for another nap, go to school, come back from school, play with baby, either pilates client or Barre, get baby ready for bed, study study study since he's asleep by 7 or 8pm, try and stay up till 11, fall asleep reading my medical terminology book. SIGH..then start all over!

Tomorrow I fly to LA to see Eye since he's performing with STOMP at the Pantages. I can't wait to see him and my brother (who's walking baseball fields with his walker!!!). It will be a good break for me. Hopefully I will relax and not even open my books this weekend.

By the way I have to say I could not do this with out the help of The Lolos. My dad seriously spent all day with Nainoa. I could tell when I got home from Barre that he was just exhausted. I thanked him with kisses and hugs. I am so lucky. Thank you Lolo

Happy Birthday Dan!

Last night Eye and I went out to celebrate Dan's 40th birthday. First of all it was SO nice to actually get dressed, put on make up and do my hair. Second, it was so nice to actually spend time out of the house with Eye. Since he's been on the road my Friday night usually consists of going to Target, Trader Joe's or something real exciting like spending way to much time on Facebook. Dan's small gatherings are usually a star studded event and I usually don't get star strucked because I grew up in L.A. and I am used to seeing celebrities. I don't know if it's because I live in Vegas and I pretty much DON'T go out but last night I TOTALLY got star strucked with Rikki Lake. I mean her movie, "Business of Being Born" inspired me to try a home birth. So I tell Dan, "DUDE you HAVE to reintroduce me to Rikki." I am like freaking out. THEN it happens I sit across from her at dinner and SHE starts a conversation with ME and says, "Coralissa, (didn't even know she knew my name) Dan's been showing me pictures of your baby he's so cute." OMG (Dan your awesome) I am totally floored! I ended up thanking her for her work on educating women on different birthing choices and how her website My Best Birth totally helped me through pregnancy and my C-section. Rikki was so welcoming, nurturing and so so nice when I talked about my birth story. THEN we ended up talking about Barre and she told me she was totally addicted and takes it in L.A.! She was definitely the highlight of my night. Happy Birthday Dan. Thanks for being born yesterday so I can have a night out with my husband and meet one of my idols.

If you haven't seen Dan's show then you might night understand this birthday video I made him. I promise you I won't encourage my son to curse.

8 Months!

Nainoa is 8 months old today! Sigh...I say this every month, but it is happening WAY too fast! He's growing up to be such a little dude. Nainoa loves to talk and yell. Right now his favorite word is "dadadadadaddaddad" (of course)

He still isn't the biggest fan of eating. I wouldn't say he's a good eater just yet. He does like rice cereal with breast milk, peas and applesauce. Oh and he likes mangoes too!

He LOVES to stand now. Lolo's new favorite thing to do is count how fast he can stand. His best time is 5 seconds. Today Lolo said he stood up without hanging on for one second!

Not sure how much he weighs yet. I'm thinking he is 22.5 or maybe 23 pounds. We'll see on his 9 month pediatrician visit.

Oh we were all featured in our friend Leigh's blog. Her blog post was about Baby Cuddles.

I've been a bit overwhelmed these past couple of days. I started school on Tuesday. Hopefully in two years I can get my Physical Therapy Assistant degree. I am so thankful for Lola & Lolo's help. With Eye on tour they take care of the boy while I go to school, study, teach Pilates,Barre and blog. I seriously could not do it with out them here. I KNOW how lucky I am. Now if I can fit in sleep somewhere in this equation it will be ALL good!

Proud BFF

My BFF Michele Bigley just came out with her own iPhone application! Its soooo awesome. It's called Family Friendly San Francisco. How cute is it that Kai is the face of the app? I really wished I lived in SF to use this app. We need a Family Friendly Vegas....ahem..Mish that should be your next project. You can totally stay here and do research. :) Anyways, after you have donated $10 to Haiti by texting "HAITI" to 90999. But this app on iTunes and write a review. It's only $1.99, less than a latte. So proud of you Mish!

Miracles & Inspirations

The day after we got back from Hawaii we drove down to L.A. to see my brother. The progress that he has made is truly amazing. He can walk with a walker and his speech is totally clear. His determination and strength is totally inspirational to me. One the best parts of our weekend besides helping him do his physical therapy was watching him interact with Nainoa.

On Sunday Eye watched the baby while my whole family went to the park.

I am so lucky to have my family.

Daddy's Ohana

It was so great for Nainoa to meet Daddy's ohana on this trip. I realized that we need to be here more. I want Nainoa to know where Daddy came from, what island life is like, how much he is loved by his ohana here. Tonight we are leaving and I am sad. I wish we lived closer. It was so nice to see the baby play with his Tutu, Grandpas, cousins, Aunties, and everyone here. Sigh...maybe we just live here part of the year...one day...one day.

Cruising Waikiki

When Eye was doing shows at night, Nainoa and I would cruise Waikiki. It was nice to watch the sunset, listen to live music by the beach or watch a free hula show. For really long walks I would use my both City Mini (thanks Pema for the suggestion) and P-sling. If Nainoa fell asleep in the sling I would transfer him to the stroller because it has a great lay down feature. For shorter walks I would just use my trusty sling. I must say I prefer wearing Nainoa but the 23 pounds can take a tole on your back! Here are a few shots from us hanging out in Waiks.

The D

This has been happening the past few days. First it was just the jaw moving up and down. Then a day later the sound came out!
